Hi, I’m Shelly!
I’m a children’s book illustrator, and I love creating whimsical worlds for young readers with big imaginations.
Art was always a part of my life, and I was lured in by the magic of children’s publishing six years ago, during a visit to the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. Seeing beautiful illustrations among thousands of books from all over the world, I knew this was what I wanted to be doing.
I’ve had the pleasure of working on multiple published projects, and I’m always looking forward to the next exciting collaboration!
My illustrations focus on capturing emotions and moments that words can’t quite convey. I love bringing quirky characters to life, and I love the moment I get to “meet” them for the first time on my page.
I’m based in ever-sunny Israel, where I live with my husband and four young children. It’s usually pretty loud and messy around here!
My kids, aged 9 months to 12 years, are my inspiration; their endlessly hilarious musings, their big emotions, and their unique lens on the world. And when I illustrate, I reconnect with my own inner child.
When I’m not creating books, you can find me reading, creating digital brushes, or eating cookies.
You will almost never find me cooking, I’m still working on that.
